2 Costa Rica Cottages: in the San Ramon Mountains, SOLD. Two fully furnished houses and a small coffee farm on 1+ acre.
#1 (Casa Colibri):
* A fully furnished 3/2, 1200 sq ft, with Pacific Ocean View (Casa Colibri). * A 2/2, fully furnished, 1500 sq ft., 3400 ft above sea level, fully fenced with electronic gate.......... in the Coffee Farms of San Ramon, Costa Rica (Casa Rana). * Small hobby farm (mainly coffee, bananas), 2 electric meters, 2 water meters, satellite TV, high speed internet, 2 cell phone lines, one land line, (and one land line on order), plus '97 Hyundai Accent car. * Total area 4542 m2 (1+ acre). .... prefer selling all together, but may sell separately. Will consider barter for "something" (!) of similar value in USA or The Netherlands. Will consider holding paper for substantial down payment. PRICE... I'm thinking $160,000. Make offer!!!
Casa Rana has a rancho/workshop, with a breakfast bar that seats 8. It's a nice place to lounge in hammocks and enjoy bird watching...Great for a barbecue! There is a small coffee farm, with mature banana, plantain, guava, guayaba, mango, cas, manzana de agua, and citrus trees, as well many other local plants. I have started a herb garden behind the kitchen. Calle Leon, San Ramon is a 45 minute drive from the San Jose airport. At more than 3400 ft above sea level, it has a fresh cool mountain climate. Easy access to everything (by car or by bus) yet in a quiet country setting. Our dead end street is 3 miles outside San Ramon, directly off the Autopista
There is plenty of room build more rental units, where the ocean view is prettiest. Electricity: Both houses have been completely rewired to modern standards. Bathrooms are handicap accessible with wall bars throughout. The sturdy lower house asks to be converted into a 2- storey chalet. Add a second story made of wood (still slightly cheaper than concrete, and much prettier) with balconies on 3 sides to watch the birds and feel the breezes ( I have been talking to a great carpenter who lives nearby to do the job...His prices are reasonable and his work excellent ). Satellite TV is present, but the dish on the upper house is not hooked up.( I find antenna TV adequate.) The guest house has its own satellite dish...the service is SKY Net......Hi Speed internet works well.....Phone service: ICE. There are two cell phones and one land line that you can take over...Land lines and cell phone chips can be hard to come by in Costa Rica....I ordered, and paid for another land line two years ago for the upper house and I am still waiting. CAFTA may help.... Assets are held in a Costa Rican corporation.... transfer is piece of cake. My 1997 Hyundai Accent GT is also available. Car prices here are high due to the import tax. Cars have to pass a yearly inspection, and pay an annual road tax. I'm asking 2 million Colones for my car....about $3636. which is a GOOD price....can you BELIEVE it...!!!!??? Also available are my (locally hand made) furniture, and appliances...Will sell/barter/trade. Equity in the neighborhood of $160,000. May hold paper. Make offer !!!
It is entirely possible to live comfortably in Costa Rica on a yearly income of $15,000.....with a maid and a gardener. My monthly electric bill for both houses stays under $40. My water bill is about $10 a month. Phone lines cost $6 a month each...My washer/drier are the biggest consumers. Gas price here is about $4 a gallon. Numerous expats have settled in and around the San Ramon area.
